S'mores in December?!

That's right. Dan got a fire pit for Christmas and of course he couldn't wait till the summer to try out his new toy. So with the snow falling we roasted marshmallows on the back deck.

Even though it was cold, it was a lot of fun to have s'mores in the middle of winter.

Christmas 2009!

This Christmas was a very different one for me. Since my mom moved to Utah it meant that I wasn't going to Washington for the holidays this year. Instead I stayed in good ole' Utah at my aunt Debbie's house along with my mom and sister, Kaeli.

It has been a long time since there has been little ones around Christmas morning. It was so much fun to see the excitement. Since my Debbie's house was a little crowded, I slept on the couch. So Christmas morning Taryn came out into the living room and was so excited about all the presents that Santa had brought.

She was even more excited that Santa had eaten all the cookies and milk she left for him.

Also she was amazed that Santa was so quiet and didn't wake me up when he came.

Once presents started getting open I kind of forgot to take pictures. But I did manage to get one picture of Annie with a new toy. She loved all her toys. It was so fun to watch her play with them all.

I got lots of fun things for Christmas. My favorite thing was my new purse.

(You can't really tell by this picture but the purse is purple.)

I also got a popcorn popper, a toaster oven, a very cute apron that matches my recipe cards and lots more. Those were just my favorite ones.

The day after Christmas my brother and his family came down for our family Christmas. Normally if I was in Washington we would have gone to my Grandma's for brunch on Christmas. So since we were all in Utah we carried on the Wixom family traditional brunch. Complete with the usual eggs fantastic, bacon, fruit, hashbrowns and I made yummy cinnamon rolls. It was all delicious.

When we were gathering everyone in the kitchen to start eating I walked into the living room and found Dan holding both Annie and Camden. I thought it was funny Annie and Camden are about the same size despite the fact that Annie is 8 months older than Camden.

This was Camden's first Christmas. I don't think he really knew what was going on.

But he sure enjoyed what was in that present. It went straight into the mouth.

It was a fun Christmas, different but fun. It was great so spend time with family. I just wish my sister, Laura and her family could have been there with us.
